While it may sound like a Bruce Willis film sequel, Ni-Hard 4 is an eutectic alloy which solidifies at a single low temperature. Its random and dispersed carbide structure makes it one of the toughest materials on the market and it can now be found in the hydraulic components of the new Grindex Bravo slurry and abrasive fluid pumping range introduced last year - it can been seen in action in the picture on the opposite page. The inclusion of Ni-Hard 4 means the latest pumps range (see table right) - which comes in five sizes - from the Sweden-based international manufacturer is designed for maximum endurance. It can handle liquids with pH values from four to 10 while impellor design helps minimises wear and tear on the pump.
