Modernization of the converters for stainless steel production at Taishan Iron & Steel Co., China

摘要

In June 2013, Shangdong Taishan Iron & Steel Corporation commissioned three modernized 70t converters for stainless steel production. Since the modernization, the implemented advanced process control model has covered all special working conditions such as high carbon content and low temperature of the utilized hot metal, reliably ensuring a high degree of productivity and excellent quality. The operational costs have also been dramatically reduced.
