Systemic inflammatory response following transcatheter aortic valve implantation

In a recent issue of Cardiology, Orvin et al. [1] report on their experience with 198 consecutive patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) at the Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva, Israel. This was a retrospective cohort study of all patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis who were deemed inoperable or at high surgical risk for conventional aortic valve replacement.
