摘要

We have to mitigate urban heat islands (UHI) and global warming. Therefore UHI countermea-sures which do not increase CO2 emissions are desirable. For finding such countermeasures, weevaluated both changes in the urban thermal environment and CO2 emissions when installingUHI countermeasures by combination of LCI analysis and canopy and building simulation. As aresult, rooftop greening can worsen the thermal environment because it increases air humidity.On the other hand, photocatalytic coating can worsen global warming because it requires muchenergy when pumping. The result is a case study; however, it was shown that it is needed toevaluate change in life cycle CO2 emissions when UHI countermeasures are installed.
