SUMMARY OF MONTHLY RUBBER STATISTICS MALAYSIA, AUGUST 2010

Production of Malaysia's natural rubber (NR) in August 2010 was 80,643 tonnes, a decrease of 440 tonnes (-0.5%) when compared to the previous month. Nevertheless, a substantial increase of 5,134 tonnes (+6.8%) was recorded year-on-year. The smallholding sector dominated with 92.9 per cent while the estate sector accounted for only 7.1 per cent in August 2010.
