摘要

The theoretical fundamentals of the hypothesis are given about a stationary network of faults, which activate at different orientations of global and regional stresses and/or continent rotation in a stationary force field. It is shown that in a coarsely discrete fractal medium:(a) referencing of cracks and faults to the global, regional, and local systems is not reliable; (b) preparedness of faults to slips during the reorientation of axes for stress fields of comparable scales is interrupted by new-generation faults; and (c) the new elements of the global network do not unavoidably inherit the orientations and locations of the earlier ones.
