摘要

Over the last dozens of years the areas of excessively moist soils in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Russia increased owing to both natural and anthropogenic reasons. One of the consequences of this recent phenomenon is the considerable decrease or even loss of fertility by arable soils forming huge massifs and formerly used for growing cereals. For example, in the Tambov Region, the anthropogenic shift in soil hydrological regime is responsible for the excessive moistening of agricultural soils at the area of 132300 ha, for bogging of 141 100 ha, and for the development of hummocky microrelief on 31 600 ha lands used for hay collection and grazing [1]. For an adequate assessment of current changes in soil moisture regime and for designing measures for reconstructing the fertility of waterlogged soils, of high importance is the knowledge of soil chemical properties.
