GENESIS AND GEOGRAPHY OF SOILS SOIL COVER MODIFICATION IN THE COURSE OF RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS CONSTRUCTION

In the course of urban development, the environment and soils in particular are subject to strong anthropogenic pressure. The area of the natural soil and plant cover gradually shrinks with the increasing urbanization. Under these changing environmental conditions, the technogenic processes dominate the natural ones and are forming the specific soils and intricate soil cover. The research on the soil cover transformation under urban development and construction of dwelling massifs, specifically, acquire a great conceptual and applied importance. Scientific achievements in this sphere should be launched to improve the existing standards and to produce new ones, as well as to propose means to sustain the quality of the soil cover in the town and to meliorate it. The purpose of this work is an integrated study of changes in the soil cover in urban areas induced by the construction of residential massifs. The data of A.S. Kurbatova and V.N. Bashkin [1, 2] were used in this study.
