摘要

The soil cover of Pleshcheevo Ozero National Reserve was formed on diverse glacial, glaciofluvial, and old alluvial sediments, under rather dissected relief, and is composed mainly of soddy-podzolic soils. However, the podzolization process is not distinctly pronounced in soils of Pleshcheevo Ozero National Reserve, namely, bleached horizons are not always formed. There were only several profiles out of hundred ones with a well developed light-colored horizon [1]. In most cases a set of transitionalhorizons is recognized.To reveal the reasons of this phenomenon is thought to be important for the diagnostics of such soils, for relating their genesis to the nature of parent material, or to the landforms, and to bioclimatic soil-forming agents.
