Synthesis and Mesomorphic Properties of [4-((4-n-Alkoxy-2,3,5,6-Tetrafluorophenyl) Ethynyl) Phenyl] Fluoro-Substituted Benzoates

摘要

Five series of liquid crystals incorporating a 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorophenylene moiety and a terminal fluorosubstituted phenyl group have been prepared. The mesomorphic properties have been studied by polarizing microscopic textural observation and DSC measurements. The effect of terminal fluor-osubstituent on mesomorphic behaviour has been discussed.
