The law relating to weighing for consumer protection, fair trading and enforcement purposes normally changes very slowly, so 2006 is unusual in that it will see the introduction of two new major pieces of legislation. The changes both stem from European Directives, one of which is now 30 years old, and one which will be implemented for the first time at the end of October. Let's look at the older one first.
