Airo Die Casting Plans 20 Million dollars Expansion, Doubles Workforce

Airo Die Casting Co., Inc. (Leggett & Platt, Inc.), Loyalhanna, Pennsylvania is moving forward with plans for a 20 million dollars expansion, which will double both the size of the plant and its workforce. The firm will add a 54,000-sq-ft expansion to its existing 52,000-sq-ft factory. The plant expansion is a result of two contracts landed by the aluminum die casting firm from Harley-Davidson Motor Co., Milwaukee, and Hughes Network Systems, Germantown, Maryland. Airo will hire 100 workers in 2003, in addition to the 100 workers added in 2002, increasing total employment to 311.
