Water-content-in-oil is a key quantity measurement in the oil fields. This article developed a GA-RBF based soft sensor to measure this key variable. The experiment results show that the developed soft sensor is effective, and the precision and performance /cost ratio might meet the demands for oil well measurements. We expect that the onsite measurement of the water-content-in-oil satisfies with both single well, in zone and the whole oitfield. If so it will greatly contribute to the establishment of digital oilfield.
