Casting Sales to Increase as Economy Recovers--U.S. casting production should ramp up as sales are forecast to grow 24.1% from 2009 through 2011

The U.S. metalcasting industry is in the midst of a recovery from a dramatic recession that began at the end of 2008 and continued through the first part of 2010. After achieving $28.2 billion in casting sales in 2007, the industry fell to $21.2 billion in sales in 2009 at the height of the economic recession. The industry began to rebound in 2010 with an estimated sales growth of 9-3%. The recovery is expected to accelerate in 2011 with growth to $26.3 billion in sales. U.S. metalcasters' sales should reach 2007 levels by 2012 and eclipse them in 2013.
