Field tests prove positive for Mobil SHC Pegasus 30

Update on field testing results for a new lower viscosity oil for gas engines, which promises increased energy efficiency with excellent lubrication performance. Field demonstrations have continued to provide encouraging results for the new Mobil SHC Pegasus 30 gas engine oil, a synthetic formulation with lower viscosity than previous oils, SAE 30 instead of the typical SAE 40 (see Modern Power Systems, August 2010, pp 29-31). The lower viscosity promises improved fuel efficiency, but assurance is needed that lubrication performance remains at a high level in operating engines despite the lower viscosity.
