No slowdown in rigid packaging development

In few plastics processing arenas does new product development occur as swiftly as in the rigid packaging market.Following are some of the recent highlights of the market.The use of diverse materials,especially plastics with cardboard or paper,in rigid packaging continues to grow.Such packaging often is used for applications requiring a combination of paper's low cost and high printability with plastics' strength.Plus,the combination often allows for less plastics' use,to find favor with accountants and environmentalists.(For more on paper/plastics packaging,see related article in our November 2002 issue.)
