PLA could face tough trek for bottle market

With sustainability the talk of the conference,and so much of the industry,it was natural that some presentations at February's Nova-Pack conference in Orlando,FL would discuss poly-lactic acid(PLA),a starch-based plastic suitable for industrial composting(not biodegradable),as a possible alternative to polyethylene terephthalate(PET)in stretch or injection blowmolded beverage bottles.
