World wants robots

Global demand for robotics and automation technology is heating up as 2004 follows a trend started in 2003 for more automation in manufacturing.According to a recent United Nations Economic Commission report,the robot market in North America surged by 28%,close to 25% in Japan,and by 4% in Europe.Worldwide order intake increased by 18 % in the first half of 2004 vs.the same period in 2003-the highest order intake of industrial robots ever recorded in all regions except Europe,where it was the second-best half-year recorded.
