New process technology for sorting recycled plastics

Eriez Magnetics,a leader in advanced technology for magnetic,vibratory,and metal-detection applications,announced that it has developed a new process technology,and the necessary equipment,for sorting of recycled plastics.In the Eriez PolyMag system,the plastic resin is made magnetic by the inclusion of an additive in the manufacture of the pellets in much the same way as a color concentrate.The quanity of the magnetic additive is extremely small and does not affect the physical properties of the plastic.
