Resin producer Borealis (Denmark) has co-operated with European petrochemical companies Lurgi and Statoil to produce polypropylene cups using propylene from Lurgi's MTP methanol to propylene process.Generally propylene is produced as a coproduct with ethylene from steam crackers using various petroleum feedstock.
