RANDOM SAMPLE TESTS A FINGER PRINT FOR THE CLEVER LAYER FARMER

Over the years, the number of Random Sample Tests for egg layers has decreased. However, this does not reflect the value of these tests. Clever layer farmers still benefit from these tests. What do these tests reveal and how can the different outcomesbetween tests be outlined? The first comparative trial for egg laying hens was carried out in the United Kingdom in 1897 with seven entries of five different chicken breeds. The tests became more or less official when in 1915, the Harper Adams Agricultural College assumed entire responsibility for the well-known Harper Adams Trials.
