The Agriculture Ministry reported that ethanol producer Biokhim produced 35,000 tonnes, around 44 mln litres, of ethanol in 2009. The distillery processed grains, mainly third-grade feed wheat. In the 2009 harvest amounting to 16 mln tonnes, 84% of the output was of that quality.
