TWO months after Cynthia Carroll's decision to step down as chief executive (CEO) of Anglo American plc, her successor has been announced. Australian mining engineer, Mark Cutifani will be leaving his role as CEO of the world's number three gold producer, AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, to take up the post. In Mr Cutifani, Anglo American seems to have found someone who will continue the company's strong responsible-mining and stakeholder-engagement credentials, a key focus under Mrs Carroll's reign.
