We automatically converted the ALKIS portrayal catalog and the ALKIS deriva-tion rules into a program which then reads extracts of the land register primary data and gen-erates from it map-like drawings. However, the placement for those symbol signatures, forwhich there are no appropriate presentation objects in the source data, was carried out by asimple procedure. Hence, we show by means of the object class "building" how new presenta-tion objects can be generated and be inserted into the respective inventory data excerpt. In thisprocess we integrate algorithms for an adequate placement of building signatures, evenincluding crosses for churches and chapels. After inserting the new presentation objects theaugmented inventory data excerpts can be visualized by our system as before.
