Indian mining company Coal India Ltd has said it will spend some US$42 million on the social sector in Mozambique in a bid to overcome social and political obstacles that are hindering the developments of its maiden project in the country. In the report submitted to the Mozambican coal ministry in May, the company said it would provide US$42 million to fund a series of social-sector investments in the country, including industrial vocational training to locals.
