Carbon sequestration funding in Australia

AUSTRALIA'S federal government has announced A$48 million (US$50 million) in funding for the development of the National Geosequestration Laboratory (NGL), to advance carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. The facility will operate as a 'hub and spoke' model, centred at the Australian Research Technology Park in Kensington. The first NGL research node will be built at the University of Western Australia and will house CCS geophysics and a geochemistry research facility.
