Sugar and ethanol producer Grupo Clealco reported a sharp increase in losses for the last fiscal year but gave an upbeat projection on fundamentals for the current season. 2014/15 (Apr/Mar) losses rose by 116% on the year to BRL-198.0 mln ($1=BRL3.14; 2012/13 profit: BRL41.7 mln). Revenue rose to BRL 1,025 mln from BRL792 mln, with the operational result reaching BRL50.2 mln. However, there were financial losses, also due to the volatile real, of around BRL-252 mln.
