BIODIESEL CONSUMPTION REMAINS DEPRESSED DESPITE SIGNS OF RECOVERY

Consumption of biodiesel in July reached around 83,000 tonnes, up from 76,000 the prior month but still, sharply below the 210,000 registered 12 months earlier. This brought cumulative consumption so far in 2013 (Jan/Jul) to 636,000 tonnes, almost half the quantity sold last year (1.266 mln tonnes). Total consumption in 2012 was 2.221 mln tonnes.
