AVENTINE REPORTS STRONG INCREASE IN Q2 2011 ETHAN0L PRODUCTION

US ethanol producer Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings Inc. reported that its net sales in Apr/Jun 2011 increased to $213.0 mln from $96.9 mln one year earlier. The company reported a 20% y/y increase in ethanol output to 55.0 mln gallons. It sold 62.5 mln gallons in Q2 2011 for an average $2.64 per gallon, compared to 46.5 mln at $1.62 one year earlier. DDGS sales in Q2 2011 amounted to 247,000 dry short tons (1 dry short ton=907.185 kg), up from 235,000 one year earlier, while the average price more than doubled to $195.93 per dry short ton from $91.49. However, by-product revenues as percentage of com costs fell 3 percentage points on the year to 32%.
