SHELL AND COSAN SIGN AGREEMENT ON JOINT VENTURE

Shell International Petroleum Co. Ltd. and sugar and ethanol producer Cosan SA signed an non-binding agreement for their planned joint venture focusing ethanol, sugar and energy production as well as fuel distribution with an investment volume of around $12 bln, Shell said. Besides biofuels production, the company would operate a network of 4,500 forecourts with an annual throughput of 17 bln litres of fuel.
