Jamaica Broilers Group (JBG) has temporarily ceased production at its 60 mln gallon dehydration plant in Port Esquivel near St. Catherine. The company said the plant would restart production in March. The company is currently in the final phase of a $16 mln upgrade to an annual production capacity of 120 mln gallons of ethanol. The company said the main reason for halting production was the intercrop season in Brazil and low ethanol prices in the US.
