Sugar and ethanol producer Guarani said it has crushed 18.4 mln tonnes in the 2012 campaign. In late 2012, the company had said it expected to crush 18.2 mln tonnes. Guarani said it produced 1.6 mln tonnes of sugar and 700 mln litres of ethanol. F.O. Licht data show that the company in 2011 crushed 16.3 mln tonnes of cane into 1.3 mln tonnes of sugar and 504 mln litres of ethanol (2010: 19.7 mln tonnes of cane, 1.6 mln tonnes of sugar and 660 mln litres of ethanol).
