BIODIESEL PRODUCERS BENEFIT FROM MANDATE

US biodiesel producer the Renewable Energy Group Inc. (REG) for Q1 2012 reported a sharp y/y increase in revenue and operating income. Revenue rose 80% on the year to $188.2 mln, while operational income more than doubled to $4.1 mln from $2.0 mln. The company reported a 69% y/y increase in gallons biodiesel sold to 34 mln.
