FUEL ETHANOL PRICE MAY BE RENEGOTIATED SOON

The recently agreed fuel ethanol purchase price of INR27 ($1=INR46.28) per litre may be limited to six months, local daily the Economic Times reported. Although Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has asked the price to be frozen for the next three years, his plan had faced resistance from the Finance and Petroleum Ministries expecting a drop in ethanol prices next year. The Cabinet still has to decide on the issue.
