Biodiesel producers are urging the government to come up with a new pricing arrangement as current losses are too high. The price state-owned oil company Pertamina pays is based on the Singapore Mid-Platts benchmark crude oil price which has been declining since October. The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) said biodiesel producers are to receive IDR4,020 ($0.36) per litre of biodiesel in January against average production costs of IDR6,600. Thus, a number of producers has already started to reduce biodiesel deliveries to Pertamina, Kadin said.
