Indian power generators hit new supply difficulties

Indian power producers have run into trouble with the central government-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) over fuel supply agreements. This is in spite of the government telling the miner in April to sign 20-year FSAs within 15 days, writes Sunil Saraf from New Delhi. Power companies are complaining that the draft agreement is so loaded in favor of CIL that it is virtually no different from the current position, whereby many generators are getting only a drip feed of short-term supplies.
