Steel Minister aims to make UP the production center for primary steel

With an attempt to enhance the access of steel in rural markets, the Minister of Steel, Mr Beni Prasad Verma, witnessed the signing of agreement for setting up of joint venture steel processing units in Barabanki and Lakhimpur. Letter of Intent for setting up of SPUs on conversion basis at Jhansi, Hardoi and Mirzapur were also handed over by the minister. He was attending a seminar titled, 'Indian Steel Sector: Adopting Human Resource Practices, R&D initiatives and Green Technology' organised by AssOCHAM in Lucknow.
