GE's testing machine facilitates steel pipe manufacturing

An ultrasonic testing machine from GE's Inspection Technologies business is helping steel pipe makers to maintain competitive advantage and technology leadership in the manufacturing of large-diameter, welded steel pipe. GE's automated inspection system was installed at the EUROPIPE's Muelheim plant (UOE-line) based in Germany two years ago and has been used to ensure that EUROPIPE consistently match customers' specifications and manufacture high quality pipe, fit-for-service in the most exacting of operating conditions.
