Buenos Aires-based Orbith, a wholesaleprovider of high-speed internet services, isplanning to invest US$ 30 million to bringsatellite-based broadband to digital divideareas throughout Argentina, reports businessdaily El Cronista. The company has reached adeal to use the Ka-band capacity of Hispasat’sAmazonas 3 satellite to offer internet access atspeeds of up to 200Mbps in mostly rural andsuburban areas. "We are the first Argentinehigh-speed internet provider for areas lackingcable and fiber," said Orbith founder and CEOPablo Mosiul, adding that the correspondingplans will be offered at costs similar to thoseof existing fiber and cable services.
