Removal of sulphates from mining waters using the sulphate-reducing bacteria

摘要

The objective of this study was the experimental verification of the possibilities of the sulphate rich mining waters utilization as a source of sulphate for the cultivation of sulphate-reducing bacteria. The results of this process consist from the elimination of the sulphates from the waste waters and the biogenic hydrogen sulphide recovery. The acid mine drainage discharged from the shaft Pech located in abandoned ore deposit Smolnik was used in this work.
