Husky making global organizational changes; Michael Urquhart retires

Husky Injection Molding Systems is making changes to its global organization, creating a new combined business unit dedicated to medical and specialty packaging; the company has also announced the retirement of longtime employee Michael Urquhart (pictured). The creation of the combined business unit follows Bolton, Ont.-based Husky's acquisition of medical and closure mold maker Schottli Group in November 2013. Steve Lawrynuik, formerly vice president, customer support, will lead this new area of the business as vice president, medical and packaging systems, Husky said in a statement. "This new business unit will bring together Schottli technology, the capabilities of Husky's specialty moldmaking facilities in Austria and the Czech Republic, aftermarket tooling and services, as well as the Hylectric system platform," Husky said.
