Precious metals rally upwards--Lead and Zinc buck the trend

Recent decline in equity market have well supported gold metals amid further buying, resulting in trade coming within a whisker of the 1,000 dollars mark to close at 990.88 dollars an ounce during the week ended on September 4 at the London market as compared to previous week's closing ending at 947.47 dollars an ounce Silver climbed above 16 dollars an ounce to close at 16.05 dollars an ounce as compared with previous week's closing at 14.31 dollars an ounce. Among the base metals complex, lead and zinc continue to dominate the bullish trend with short covering activity seeing lead climb by over six per cent and zinc post an impressive 2 76 per cent gain. In contrast, the other base metals have been rather subdued.
