Metal stocks continue to lead, index gains 7.89 percent; outperforms Sensex

Metal stocks continued to lead for a second successive week as the BSE Metals Index was again the Jargest gainer in the last week's performance. The BSE Metals Index zoomed by 7.89 per cent and was followed by the BSE capital good sector which improved by 5.76 per cent. The Sensex registered a gain of 4.11 per cent and the Nifty ended 4.41 per cent higher. The CNX Mid Cap Index ended 4.51per cent higher. The Nifty has closed past its earlier intermediate lop indicating that the major downtrend started in February has ended and this will be confirmed once the nifty moves past its February top of 4246 in the current intermediate rise.
