IHS foresees India's coal imports rising significantly

India has been continuously facing domestic fuel supply constrains - particularly for natural gas, and increasingly coal. The country immediately requires regulatory and structural reform across natural gas and coal. Despite an increasing competition from natural gas and renewable energy sources, the regional power industry will continue to depend on coal for a large part of its generation.
