摘要

As part of its Rs 10,000 crore mine expansion plans to minimise impact on the environment, the state-owned largest steel producer, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is introducing a state-of-the-art ore beneficiation technology in its mining operations. The new eco-friendly technology is linked to plans of SAIL's Raw Materials Division (RMD) to hike iron ore production from its seven mines located at Meghahatuburu, Gua, Kiriburu, Chiria, Bolani, Barsua and Kalta, spread over Jharkhand and Orissa. The company is spending over Rs 10,000 crore for modernisation and expansion to enhance iron ore production capacity of RMD mines from the present level of 18 million tonne (mt).
