Hindustan Zinc's Q2 profit rises 5 pc to Rs 2,285.26 cr

On account of lower productioncosts, the mining major VedantaLtd's subsidiary Hindustan ZincLimited (HZL) posted a 5 per centrise in its net profit during thesecond quarter ended September30, 2015. It posted a net profit ofRs 2,285 crore in Q2FY16 ascompared to a year ago onaccount of higher operating profitand increase in investmentincome, which was offset partlyby higher taxes. For the halfyearly period (H1FY16), netprofit went up 11% to Rs 4,206crore HZL said in a statement onits quarterly financialperformance.
