Reserve Bank of India cuts repo rate by 25 bps

The Reserve Bank of India cut the Repo rate by an expected 25 basis points to 7.50%. With this cut, the Reverse Repo also standsadjusted to 6.50%. The central bank maintained status quo on the Cash Reserve Ratio front. The CRR remains at 4% after the 25 bps cut in the last monetary policy review in January 2013. Moreover, the central bank reiterated that any liquidity related issues, if any, would be managed by various instruments, including open market operations (OMO), so as to ensure adequate flow of credit to productive sectors of the economy.
