Ferro Alloys Industry should take to export route for survival

The industry has done reasonably well consideringthe constraints of high cost of power, which is a significant input.Though the government has increased DEPB rates to encourageexports, it is only a short-term remedy. The government has toaddress to the basic issue of cost and availability of power toimprove the viability of exports in the longrun. The industry onits part, should look for a cost effective technology. Plasmatechnology looks promising.
