Waste utilization & recycling of aluminium dross

Health and safety has become the most essential part of the employee in an industry. Since many hazardous and toxic by products have been generated by the smelter and alumina refinery, it needs to think over the waste utilization and its management by the industry. In this connection few attempts have been made by companies in India and further work is in progress. In case of aluminium dross metallurgical processes do not permit to completely recover aluminium metal from dross material. In such cases, some part of the dross is declared as process waste with insignificant commercial value. When it is released to environment as waste it can have adverse impact on the ecological systems.
