Raw sugar futures in New York resumed their rise after a temporary set-back earlier this month following the market's failure to breach resistance at 24 cents/lb. The overall mood in the market remains bullish owing to production concerns in Brazil, India and Thailand.The benchmark contract for March delivery ended up 0.28 cent at 23.20 cents/lb while second-month May gained 0.27 cent to 22.53 cents/lb.White sugar futures in London also ended stronger and managed to cross the psychologically important $600 a tonne level. The most active December contract settled $12.80 higher at $605.50 a tonne. Second-month March gained $8.20 to $601.60 a tonne.
